FALL 2025
New Village Website: Our new website is up and running! www.villageofaugusta.org is the address. There, you can keep up on all the recent happenings in the Village. There is also a link on the website to make online water bill and tax bill payments.
Fall Cleanup: Fall Cleanup will be Saturday October 25th at the Village Hall from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM or until 2 trucks are filled. You must be a Village resident and a Best Way customer to use this service. Identification will be required.
The Giving Pump: Until October 31st, if you purchase gas and use the purple pump at participating Shell Gas Stations, a portion of purchases will be donated to the South Michigan Food Bank, supporting their Backpack Program and the mission to end childhood hunger.
Leaf Burning: Leaf clean up season is here, and we would like to remind everyone that you cannot burn leaves on, or along the edge of the roadways within the Village. The heat from the fire damages our roads. The smoke from the fire can affect neighbors with breathing problems. If a neighbor complains about the smoke, you must extinguish the fire. And lastly, your fire must always be extinguished by dusk. You can also take your leaves up to the back of the cemetery and dump them there if you don’t want to burn them.
Haunted House: The annual Ross-Augusta Firefighters Association Haunted House will be Saturday October 25th from 1:00-4:00. This event will take place at the north station on M-89, at the Ross Township Hall. The event is sponsored by the Ross-Augusta Fire Department.
Remember to change the batteries in your smoke detectors!
Trunk or Treat: For more Halloween fun - on Saturday October 25th, the Village Council will be sponsoring a Trunk or Treat in the Village Park from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Kids of all ages are welcome! Trick or Treating: As always, Village wide Trick or treating will be on Halloween. Friday October 31st from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Please turn on an outside light if you will be handing out treats.
Police Department News: There has been a rash of drivers speeding through town and not stopping at posted intersections. Please slow down and make sure you are complying with traffic signs and speed limits. As we move further into fall and approach winter, Chief Heppler reminds you to please remember to keep an eye out for children as you drive. Our kids are walking to school in the mornings and playing outside in the evenings. Also, be good neighbors. If something does not look right, please call 911, It is the fastest way to contact the police.
Please continue to support our local businesses. Together, we can continue to help Augusta grow and thrive.
